Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center has dedicated over 50 years to providing services across five counties for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders. The Center prides itself in the well-developed quality of services and established continuum of care. The Center provides services for children, families, senior age groups, and individuals struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.

The Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center is a public, non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors from Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston Counties.

Northwest contracts with the Alabama Department of Mental Health, other state government entities, county and local governments, and industry partners to deliver a wide range of services.

Northwest makes referrals to link our consumers to services in the community to support overall wellness. These might include aid in getting a license, medical services, food shortage issues, dental care, career center for employment, adult education for GEDs, etc
