Services
Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center offers services within the five-county catchment area for adults and children experiencing mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders. Our goal as a service provider is to offer treatment plans that are accessible, affordable, and provide the least restrictive environment for our clients.

Mental Illness
We are dedicated to offering a range of services for individuals with varying levels of mental illness.
Residential
We currently operate 13 residential facilities, 7 group homes and 6 apartment complexes.
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
We are dedicated to offering a range of services for individuals with varying levels of intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Substance Use Disorders
Northwest provides outpatient substance abuse services for adolescents and adults.
Children and Adolescents
We offer accessible, personalized care to support the mental health and well-being of children and families.
Equines Assisting Special Individuals
EASI is our 25-acre Animal-Assisted Therapy center in Walker County.
Crisis
Northwest’s Mobile Crisis Services are an open-access system designed to serve individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
